The Jubilee Prayer

Father in heaven,
may the faith you have given us
in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother,
and the flame of charity enkindled
in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
reawaken in us the blessed hope
for the coming of your Kingdom.
May your grace transform us
into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel.
May those seeds transform from within both humanity and the whole cosmos
in the sure expectation
of a new heaven and a new earth,
when, with the powers of Evil vanquished,
your glory will shine eternally.
May the grace of the Jubilee
reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope,
a yearning for the treasures of heaven.
May that same grace spread
the joy and peace of our Redeemer
throughout the earth.
To you our God, eternally blessed,
be glory and praise for ever. Amen.

This Year of Jubilee in the universal Church calls us to embrace, and be renewed in, the hope of Christ – a hope that does not disappoint. We are embarking on a particular time of pilgrimage and as the Holy Father has reminded us, Jesus, “is the destination of ourpilgrimage”. He is both the way, and the path to be travelled.

Archbishop’s St Mary MacKillop Pilgrimage

The annual Archbishop’s St Mary MacKillop Pilgrimage on 9th of August is nearly here!  This year is particularly special as it marks the Jubilee Year of Hope and Our Lady Star of the Sea Church has been designated as a Pilgrimage Site.

We are looking forward to welcoming and hosting many Pilgrims.

We kindly request the support of all our Parish, as you have so generously provided in the past, to attend and greet the Pilgrims.
